MAGYAR NEMZETI GALÉRIA (Hungarian National Gallery) - The finest collection of Hungarian painting.
Built in 1906 as Hungarian eclectic architecture outstanding composition. Its collection contains most of the country's famous works of art with pictures and drawings from the world's 38 bestknown painters. There are more than 120 000 pieces of artwork kept here. It can be found in the 6th district Hősök tere.

MAGYAR TERMÉSZETTUDOMÁNYI MÚZEUM Shows man and nature in the Carpathian Basin throughout the ages. Location: 8th District, Ludovika tér 6, off Üllôi út, near Blue Line Metro Klinikák stop. KÖZLEKEDÉSI MÚZEUM UNDERGROUND RAILWAY MUSEUM A collection showing the development of Hungarian transportation instruments. It can be found in the 14th district Városliget. To get there: Metro 1 to Széchenyi fürdő or tram 1 to Kacsóh Pongrác út NÉPRAJZI MÚZEUM Permanent and changing exhibits on local and world cultures. Location: 5th District, across from Hungarian Parliament, near Red Line Metro Kossuth tér stop. Hours: Mar. – Nov. 10am to 6pm, Dec.-Feb. 10am to 4pm. (No. 37 on map) MÁTYÁS TEMPLOM MÚZEUM PETŐFI IRODALMI MÚZEUM Personal effects and letters of great Hungarian writers. Palace of the Károlyi family, renovated. Location: 5th District, Károlyi M. utca 16, near Blue Line Metro Ferenciek tere stop Hours: 10am to 4pm. ADY EMLÉKMÚZEUM Museum of Ady Endre, Hungarian Poet Laureate. Small and romantic residence of the visionary whose image adorns the 500 Forint bill. Location: 5th District, Veres Pálné utca 4-6, near Blue Line Metro Ferenciek tere stop. Hours: Mar.-Oct. Wed. to Sun. 10am to 6pm, Nov.-Feb. 10am- 4pm. IPARMŰVÉSZETI MÚZEUM From handicrafts to mass produced antiques. Rare, invaluable and unique items on display. Secessionist style building, very fancy. HOPP FERENC KELET-ÁZSIAI MŰVÉSZETI MÚZEUM Relatively large private collection of rare Asian antique art. Location: 6th District, Andrássy út 103, near Yellow Line Metro Bajza utca stop.
